This masterfully blended wine is made only on exceptional vintage years. The 3 grapes are fermented separately and aged in new French oak for 15 months, and then blended one month before bottling.
Rus has a very deep ruby red hue and a concentrated nose of wild berries, tobacco and leather. It is full bodied with great structure, gentle tannins, and a long-lasting taste.
Ageing: 15 months in French oak barrels
Barbera is a red Italian wine grape variety that, as of 2000, was the third most-planted red grape variety in Italy (after Sangiovese and Montepulciano). It produces good yields and is known for deep color, low tannins and high levels of acid.[1]
