In 2004 The harvesting of the grapes began later in than in the particularly early recent vintages such as the 2003, and the standard of quality of the grapes was higher than expected. The resulting wines have very interesting, complex noses, with the right amount of acidity and alcohol.
Nebbiolo - Believed to have been cultivated in the Langhe district before the 14th century. Nebbiolo is notoriously difficult to grow and make into fine wine outside of Piemonte region.The wines, Barolo & Barbaresco tend to be the most in need of aging, other wines made in the modernist style are becoming more approachable at a young age.
